EXPLORE THE OCEAN

A TASTE OF AZORES

Azoreans built a network of footpaths for trade; to take cattle to pasture and farm products to market. This network of footpaths have been restored to excellent, well-kept walking trails.  These bring hickers to spectacular pristine nature; through dramatic coastlines, tropical forests, verdant pastures, blue crater lakes, bubbling geysers, sparkling waterfalls, emerald beaches, majestic mountains and quaint villages.

"...Just 15 minutes from the marina, in Ponta Delgada the sunken "Dori" would be hugely popular in the Red Sea. Instead, we're alone. Well, alone except for carousels of fish by the ship's bridge, torpedo-shaped barracuda, hundreds of alien-eyed octopuses, fireworms like Rio carnival dancers and a stingray the size of my hotel's king-size bed which ripples off the deck..."

“From winemaking to wood ovens to cooking underground in volcanic geysers, the Azores are inspiring islands rich in culinary treasures,” said Ming. “Exploring both the traditional and modern-day cuisine of this very special place that abounds in fresh seafood and pineapples is one of the biggest highlights of the entire series.” Chef Ming Tsai
